Fuzzy Dynamic Thermal Rating System-Based Thermal Aging Model for Transmission Lines

Electricity demand has surged over the last several years and will persist in future. Increased transmission loads cause lines to operate much closer their security limits, leading thermal mechanical stress thus affecting reliability aging. Accordingly, monitoring conductor temperature time is critical identifying power networks that may need extra attention perhaps maintenance. This paper presents a fuzzy aging model for equipped with dynamic rating system based on IEEE 738 standard. In this framework, ampacity of line was calculated. The computed back-calculation method by considering fully loaded line. estimated employed determine corresponding loss tensile strength, i.e., annealing degree Harvey model. Additionally, strength cost profile provided. Simulation numerical results indicate proposed framework robust against various operating conditions parameters considered study provides crucial information managing assets network operation.
